Construction continues to progress well at Holmes Street purpose built student accommodation in Burnley.
Demolition works are now complete and the main contractor is in possession of the site, preparing for the concrete ground slab. The slab and the steel frame rising from it should be completed within 2-weeks.
The balance of the floor make-up, including the finished floor screed will be completed one week later; one week thereafter the ground floor modules will begin to arrive on site, taking one week to install. Upon successful installation, the first floor concrete slab will be placed; the modules will be installed at a rate of one floor per week.
The off-site construction is commencing at an excellent pace, with 50 modules now formed and being completed in the manufacturer's factory.
The module manufacture follows a series of sequential processes; starting with the formation of the structural box, the building services added within the walls, before being covered in a fire protected plasterboard sheeting. The interior furnishings are then built in and the bedrooms decorated and finished. Each bedroom is then moved to the site, secured and covered in protective sheeting.
The lettings agents have commenced taking bookings for the 2015-16 academic year.
Just 14 studio apartments are available to reserve at Holmes Street Burnley, with 10% NET rental returns assured for a period of 5-years.
